Sibelius : Change the page size of all of your parts in one edit

There is a quick way to change the page size of all of your parts in one edit operation within Sibelius. Here’s how:

In Sibelius 7 or later, locate the Layout Group in the Parts Tab and select All Parts:

(In Sibelius 6 choose Multi-Part Appearance button at the bottom of the Parts Window)

Select your new global parts page size:

Don’t forget to change the printer Page Setup… size to match this new size for when you print.

That’s all there is to it.

  1. Thanks for this tip, Robert! I often have to use a custom size for parts and have noticed that although ‘custom’ is available from this menu it won’t allow you to change all parts at once. So to use a custom size I set up one part then export a house style then re-import it to the parts using the same ‘all parts’ tab.

    1. Good point, and tip, Tom! Thank you.

To clarify, when you select the “Custom” page size option from within the Multi Part Appearance dialog, you would expect that editable height and width fields would appear for you, but they don’t.

e.g. you can change all pages to any preset page size in the list, but not to a custom page size here.

So, to create or edit a “Custom” page dimension, you need to navigate to Document Setup for the part and make your edits there. Once you have applied this custom page size to the current part, you can export this Custom Document Setup as a house style, and reimport it back into all the parts via Multiple Part Appearance > House Style > Import House Style.

This behavior goes back at least as far as Sibelius 6.

      Thank you again, Tom.
